Pours dark amber with a white head. Sweet fruit and yeast on the nose with yeast and caramel notes on the palate, and a slight bitterness on the finish. Named after the open air fermenters kept on the roof of the brewery before the days of commercial refrigeration, which used to let off steam in the cold air which swept in over the sea.
California Steam Beer
Anchor Brewing Co.
Anchor is America’s first and oldest craft brewery, with roots dating back to the California gold rush. Their beers are handmade from an all-malt mash in their traditional copper brewhouse. The process combines the time-honored art of classical craft brewing with carefully applied, state-of-the-art modern methods.
