Vineyard & Wine Region Information
Located near the town of Fontanars dels Alforins in the Valencian Community. The Velazquez family has owned the bodega since 1771, when it was bought at auction. However, wine making has been taking place on the site for much longer than this, where it was originally started by Jesuits, who were expelled from Spain by King Carlos III in 1767.
Grapes are cultivated according to organic principles. No chemical fertilizers are used, only organic composts made from the sediment from the cellar and shredded stalks and shoots from the vines and harvested grapes.
