Vineyard & Wine Region Information
This wine is produced at the Domaine Gaston Huet - a great domaine with a tradition of making some of the best Vouvray wines since 1928. They employ organic and biodynamic methods thus respecting the soil, vines and environment, which they believe also enhances the character of their wine.
One of the defining features of Huet's 2014 dry wines is the high-definition clarity with which each site articulates its terroir. Le Haut Lieu sec is no exception. The site sits on deep, brown, chalky clay (known as aubuis), set back from the river, close to the Valley de Mouy. Here the yellow limestone (tuffeau) bedrock lies up to four metres down, making for a richer soil that produces round, supple wines that often drink very well young.
Low sulphite, organic and vegan friendly.
