Whispers of the exotic and petrol characters suffuse the ripe white and yellow orchard fruit aromas. Somewhat surprisingly there is even better vibrancy to the nicely detailed and discreetly stony middle weight flavours that display good length on the balanced finish. Organically farmed and hand-harvested on the steepest slopes of the Maconnais from the terraced vineyard of Vergisson in Pouilly-Fuisse

|Region||Burgundy - Pouilly Fuisse|
Vineyard & Wine Region Information
It is on the steep slopes of the Mâconnais, from terraced vineyards, where one of the grandest white wines of Burgundy is harvested; Pouilly-Fuissé. Emblematic of this great region in southern Burgundy, the great stone monoliths of Solutré and Vergisson shelter the famous vineyards of Pouilly-fuissé. The appellation is based on a single variety, chardonnay, and extends across four communes: Solutré-Pouilly, Fuissé, Chaintré and Vergisson. It is the clay and limestone terroir of Vergisson that allows the Pouilly-Fuissé of Alix de Montille to flourish.
Alix de Montille only selects parcels that align with her demands: controlled yields from carefully pruned and plowed vines. Nothing is purchased unless the parcel is sustainably farmed. Some vineyards are even in the process of being converted to organic viticulture. Alix works with fruit from approximately five hectares spread between the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise, the Mâconnais and Chablis. Almost 35,000 bottles are tagged "Deux Montille Soeur-Frères" every vintage.
