You can tell its strength by its colour alone: "Schneider Weisse non-alcoholic" - the slightly darker, isotonic thirst-quencher energizes with 100% wheat beer taste at less than 0.5% alcohol. That's how a "free" wheat beer should taste like: strong - just like Bavaria.
The Tap 3 Mein Alkoholfrei has been brewed since 2002 and is a top fermented wheat beer with a white, persisting head. This is amber red in colour with light caramel and banana notes coming from the malts on the palate. The isotonic thirst quencher is made using Halletauer and Tradition hops and is ideal for refreshment after a long day. A low alcohol and low calorie beer with all the taste and none of the guilt.
The Weisses “Brauhaus” is the oldest wheat beer brewery in all of Bavaria and has since 1928 been in the possession of the Schneider family. It is located in the old quarter of Kelheim in striking distance to the river Danube.
The brewery was founded in 1872 by Georg Schneider I and his son Georg Schneider II, after they acquired the Weisses Brauhaus in Munich, the oldest wheat beer brewery in the city. In 1927 the owners, who to this day are descendants of Georg Schneider I, expanded their brewing operations into Kelheim and Straubing. After the breweries in Munich were destroyed in 1944 by aerial bombardment by the Allies of World War II, the entire production was relocated to Kelheim.
Today, the brewery employs around 100 people and distributes its products across Germany and 27 other countries. The annual output is about 300,000 hectolitres, of which about 25% is sent outside of Germany.
