Brewery owners Bill and Ron have been friends since they were kids. Upon becoming adults, Ron developed a love for craft beer and with access to his fathers home brewing kit he began experimenting with his own brews. One Christmas, Ron gifted Bill a home brewing kit and because that they developed a friendly rivalry between each other to see who could brew the best beers, which would lead to them becoming highly skilled home brewers. Ron became disillusioned with his job as an analyst and consequently quit, he then decided to start an apprenticeship with Baltimore Brewing Company.
After a year of working at Baltimore Brewing Company, Ron had gained the necessary skills to move on to study at the Technical University of Munich at Weihenstephan. Immediately after his departure Bill would fill his role at the Baltimore Brewing Company. Upon finishing his studying, Bill decided to go and perfect his craft by traveling to Munich, Germany to attend Doemens Institute.
Bill and Ron decided they were ready to open their own brewery near where they first met in Pennsylvania. Victory Brewing Company opened its doors to the public on Feb. 15, 1996. What was once a Pepperidge Farm factory became home to a 144-seat restaurant, 70-foot-long bar and a full-scale brewery. In its first year, Victory Brewing Company brewed 1,725 barrels of beer.
