Vineyard & Wine Region Information
Rioja Alta is the most Westerly of the 3 subregions of Rioja, and the most important in terms of the quality of the wine produced. Due to its high altitude the climate is similar to that of Rioja Alavesa, and this promotes the accumulation of acidity, colour and aromatic complexity in the fruit. Arana Reserva 2009 was aged for 3 years in old American oak barrels before being bottled in 2013.
