This wine has a deep purple-red colour and an intense aroma of blackberries and blueberries. The palate is soft and silky, bursting with spicy flavours of black pepper, dark chocolate, wild berries and vanilla. The tannins are elegant, yet persistent.
FOOD SUGGESTIONS – Beef, Pasta and Lamb
Puglia and Sicily are producing huge volumes of wine and they are battling to be the second biggest wine producing region in Italy. The hot climate is reflected in the wines and they are famous for their inexpensive, full-bodied, warm and fruit-forward red wines.
You will see the word appassimento on an increasing number of wine labels. It refers to wines made from grapes that have been dried for an extended period before being pressed and the juice fermented. The grapes lose water and therefore become sweeter and more concentrated in flavour.

We love this wine and keep coming back to it again and again
A plus that it’s organic and vegan. We just keep coming back to this wine!
This is certainly my favourite civilian red - I am Vegan, so it is quite difficult to find the right wine. Civilian wines are my favourite - these manage to be both flavourful and gentle at the same time! Sensa Nero d'avila is a real jem!
