A rich and full-bodied organic red wine made from 100% Nero di Troia grapes. Bursting with flavours of blackcurrant, plum and subtle spice, with velvety tannins and a long, smooth finish. Perfect with grilled meats, pasta dishes and aged cheeses.

The bold, rich flavours of the Zensa Nero di Troia make it an excellent pairing for hearty, flavourful dishes. Its structured tannins and vibrant fruit complement grilled red meats like lamb or beef, as well as rich pasta dishes like Pugliese orecchiette with sausage and broccoli rabe. The wine’s spice and earthy notes make it a great match for slow-cooked stews or a savoury mushroom risotto. For cheese lovers, pair this wine with aged cheeses such as Pecorino or Parmigiano-Reggiano to enhance its complexity and bring out its fruity, savoury nuances.

Organic

Zensa Wines is a well-regarded producer focused on creating high-quality, organic wines that reflect the authenticity of southern Italy’s terroir. The name “Zensa” is derived from the Italian word “senza,” meaning “without,” which refers to their commitment to making wine without the use of pesticides, chemicals, or synthetic fertilizers. Zensa Wines follows strict organic farming practices, ensuring that the grapes express their natural flavours and purity. Their dedication to sustainability and respect for the environment is evident in every bottle, offering a taste of Puglia that is as ethical as it is delicious.

The vineyard promote biodiversity and allow plants other than vines to grow in and around the vineyard. Biodiversity helps regulate the vineyard soil by attracting beneficial insects, spiders and predatory mites, as well as providing shelter and food (pollen, nectar and other bugs), and replaces the need for chemical pesticides or insecticides. What cannot be fully controlled through biodiversity can still be managed organically, through the use of naturally-occurring plant or mineral extracts, which leave no residues in the soil.
