Sweet Dessert Wines

A dessert wine is considered to be any sweet white wine drunk with a meal, as opposed to a fortified wine such as sherry, which is often taken before s meal, or port, usually drunk after it. Whilst fortified wines are seen as distinct from dessert wines, some of the less strong fortified white wines, such as Pedro Ximénez, sherry and Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise, are usually seen to be dessert wines.
