A fine, modern Vinho Verde, with aromas of apple and grapefruit alongside herbal notes. The palate is medium-bodied and refreshing, with the classic touch of spritz.
The Meireles family were vineyard owners in the small town of Lixa, who in 1986 set up a winery producing Vinho Verde. Six years later, they were able to buy the ten-hectare Quinta da Lixa vineyard, which now gives the company its name, and in 1994 invested in a new, larger winery. The family now own vines in six different Quintas, with forty-two hectares in total.
This particular Vinho Verde comes from the Quinta de Sanguinhedo vineyard, with fifteen-year-old vines planted on granite soil. The grapes were harvested by hand.
