Casa Barú 5YO is an exceptional rum made from artisanal sugarcane syrup from local farms. Double distilled in a copper still, and aged in fresh ex-bourbon, ex-rye and European fortified wine casks, it has a unique character and complexity.
- CASA BARÚ DOUBLE CROP RUM - Double Crop is a distinctive blend, crafted from sugarcane harvested during two different growing cycles, giving it a unique and complex flavour profile that showcases the natural richness of Panama’s volcanic soil.
- LOCAL INGREDIENTS - Only the finest sugarcane from the rich volcanic soils of Panama’s Chiriquí region is used. The rum is distilled with pure spring water from the Barú Volcano, and without any artificial additives, to preserve its natural essence.
- CASA BARÚ DISTILLERY - Situated in the unique conditions of the Barú Volcano region, the distillery benefits from high altitudes, temperate rainforest climate, and volcanic soils, producing rum with exceptional depth and character.
- PROCESS - The double crop method involves using sugarcane harvested in two separate cycles, creating a layered, complex flavour profile. The rum is distilled in small batches, allowing the natural sweetness of the cane to shine through in every sip
- TASTING NOTES – Begins with aromas of caramelized sugar, tropical fruit, and hints of toasted oak. On the palate, it’s rich and smooth with flavors of honeyed molasses, ripe bananas, and a touch of spice, leading to a warm, velvety finish.
