Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 75cl

The best known name in New Zealand wine, Cloudy Bay is the “standard-bearer of Marlborough wineries” and this, their silky smooth fragrant Pinot Noir with delicate berry fruit, is one of the New World’s finest. With hints of strawberries, earthy mushrooms and smoky spice, this silky red is a dream with chicken salad and pomegranate or wild mushroom risotto.

Created in 1985 by David Hohnen, founder of the Cape Mentelle estate in Australia, the Cloudy Bay vineyards extend to the mouth of the eponymous bay in New Zealand The vineyards of Cloudy Bay are located at superior sites throughout the Marlborough region to maximise the considerable diversity that exists in micro-climates and soil types.

Cloudy Bay is named after the bay at the eastern end of the Wairau Valley; the gateway to the Marlborough region. In New Zealand, nearly all wine growing regions are close to the ocean. These coastal locations experience long sunshine hours, sea breezes and cool nights - providing an ideal growing environment and an extended ripening period.
