Our Tequilana Agave distillate is made from the heart of wild Blue agave. The recipe was fine tuned to produce the perfect flavour. This spirit is made through the conventional autoclave cooking method, mechanic grinding, stainless steel fermentation, stainless steel double distillation followed by a cold-blending of 70% Agave distillate and 30% of a mix of cane sugar and Agave syrup.

 

  • EL CABRÓN: Cabrón means ‘Male Goat’ in Spanish and is Spanish slang equivalent to a cool guy or dude. The Agave plant is tough to harvest and it takes a super skilled cabrón to distill the Tequilina Agave in our bottles!
  • AGAVE TEQUILA: Blue Agave, Maguey Honey, and Cane Sugar, are combined within a long oxygenation process, making this distillate perfectly soft and balanced. Every bottle is dedicated to the true cabrónes- our farmers.
  • SUSTAINABLE: We challenge the status quo of Agave farming. While mainstream blue Agave spirits must be farmed from a select few regions of Mexico, we refuse to endorse this short sighted approach, which has threatened biodiversity in such areas.
  • THE PROCESS: Made from the heart of blue Agave- which undergoes autoclave cooking, mechanical grinding, stainless steel fermentation, stainless steel double distillation, and a cold-blending of Agave distillate, cane sugar and Agave syrup.

Our intention is to play a role in contributing towards the protection of the biodiversity of the agave plant, soil health, responsible disposal of mezcal waste products, address water pollution and carbon footprint. All of this goes hand in hand with our projects supporting mezcal producing communities in Mexico. Tequila must be made from blue agave and farmed from a select few regions of the Mexico. The monopoly who developed these stipulations, threaten the biodiversity of the plant and cut out production for many farmers. El cabrón blue agave tequilana breaks these boundaries. We refuse to endorse corruption and short sighted agave farming. Instead we plant a wild agave for every bottle purchased …it’s what a cabrón does! It is crafted by a remarkable group of over 240 farmers from three distinct towns in zacatecas. Led by the esteemed maestro mezcalero don lupe, they established their very own distillery to create their exceptional tequilana agave distillates. The impeccable quality of their production shines through in the delightful and fragrant flavour of this extraordinary spirit.
