Graphite and dark berry fruit on the nose give way to a palate full of blueberry and blackberry flavours layered on to a stony, mineral core. The tannins are supple and elegant and the finish is lengthy, fresh and well balanced.

The magnificent Haras de Pirque Estate occupies a privileged position at the foot of the Andes, in Chile’s Maipo Valley region. The lovingly tended vineyards are on largely north-facing slopes, from the middle of which rises a unique horseshoe shaped gravity flow winery, inspired by the estates other claim to fame, as an internationally renowned thoroughbred breeding farm. The wine side of Haras de Pirque is now owned by Italy’s Antinori family, their chief winemaker Renzo Cotarella bringing his own sensibility to bear while respecting the character of this very particular terroir.
