Dark purple in colour with a bright hue, it has a dense, jammy boysenberry aroma, which is accompanied by a creamy vanilla and slightly smoky character. The wine is soft and round on the palate and is full of big, juicy dark berry fruit flavours. A long fruit finish is accompanied by hints of milk chocolate.
This petite sirah is a full-bodied, delicious wine with notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee and rich black fruit on the nose and palate. The mid-palate is led by mocha notes that carry through to the long luxurious finish.
Oak aging has contributed a pleasing mélange of rich creamy caramel and maple syrup scents, with just a barely perceptible waft of smoke. The dense viscous liquid delivers all of the flavours one would expect from the aromatics. Savoury and luscious with a pleasantly persistent finish.
Matches very well with a medium-rare beef burger topped with blue cheese or vegetable ratatouille.
