St. Peters Brewery – Ultimate Selection Case - 12 x 500ml Bottles

This case usually contains one bottle of each of the following: 

1 x Winter Ale – This deep mahogany red strong ale is a classic example of a winter warmer that’s high in alcohol and rich in taste. An excellent balance of malty sweetness and hoppy bitterness, gives aromas of Christmas cake with hints of black treacle and vine fruits.

1 x Golden Ale - English Pale malts coupled with Challenger and Goldings hops provide the bitterness and aroma. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale, with caramel aromas, a pleasing toffee apple flavour and a late bitterness. 

1 x Cream Stout - This strong, dark, and aromatic cream stout is rich black velvet in colour, with coffee and vanilla notes coming from the blend of local malts and hops. This stout has a smooth and creamy chocolate flavour, together with a satisfying bittersweet aftertaste.

1 x India Pale Ale - This ale is traditionally highly hopped and robust to survive the long voyage to the Indian sub-continent. The result is a full-bodied Pale Ale with a zesty character. Dark golden in colour, pleasing toffee aromas, and distinctive floral citrus flavours. 

1 x Plum Porter - A dark, sweet, full-bodied plum porter. Background notes of damson and blackcurrant are followed by the fruitiness of the plum in flavour and aroma. 

1 x Old Style Porter - A blend of a mature and young ale creates a porter of traditional character that’s dark cherry in colour and complex in taste. Aromas of liquorice, rum, raisin and chocolate with hints of coffee are in abundance in this full-bodied, warming ale. 

1 x Suffolk Gold Gluten Free - This premium beer is brewed with Suffolk malt to produce a full-bodied golden ale with hints of citrus. First Gold hops provide the pleasing and lasting hop aroma and bitterness for this pleasantly sweet, but dry beer. 

1 x Whisky Beer - A superbly balanced beer golden in appearance with peaty smoky aromas and smooth whisky flavours from peated malt. With a measure of English Whisky from St. George’s Distillery in Norfolk, it is rich in flavour and a superb after dinner drink. 

1 x Honey Porter - A traditional English Porter, auburn red in colour and finished with honey for a truly unique aroma and taste. Honey aromas on the nose, and flavours of honey, chocolate and with hints of vanilla making this a unique and pleasing ale. 

1 x Organic Best Bitter - A copper coloured, full-bodied organic best bitter made with organically grown malted barley, and organic hops to give the distinctive fully hopped character. This Best Bitter has a sweet biscuit aroma and pleasing citrus hop flavours. 

1 x Pale Ale - A hoppy and aromatic session ale with bright citrus flavours. Aromas of grapefruit, pine and herbs are followed by a soft bitterness and earthy undertones. 

1 x Ruby Red - This ale is traditionally highly hopped and robust to survive the long voyage to the Indian sub-continent. The result is a full-bodied Pale Ale with a zesty character. Dark golden in colour, pleasing toffee aromas, and distinctive floral citrus flavours.

1 x Without Original 0.0% - A delicious alcohol free, full-bodied ale, that’s dark amber in colour. It boasts a rich and malty taste that is bursting with lasting flavour, followed by a refreshing and delicate bitterness. Proudly certified by The Vegan Society.

St. Peter’s Brewery is one of England’s original craft breweries, founded in 1996 in former traditional agricultural buildings alongside the moated St. Peter’s Hall, deep in the picturesque Suffolk countryside.

The location, in the village of St. Peter South Elmham, near Bungay, is ideal for the excellent water quality used in the brewing process – all beers brewed at St. Peter’s Brewery use water filtered through chalk deep beneath the brewery, obtained from our own deep bore-hole.

The unique balance of East Anglian malt, carefully selected hops and the time honoured skill of our master brewer create a range of truly distinct classic English cask-conditioned ales, also available in our iconic 500ml oval bottle and 30 litre kegs.

Alongside our range of ‘traditional’ ales, such as Best Bitter and Golden Ale, we also produce some more unusual beers, such as Honey Porter, Plum Porter and Citrus Beer that replicate traditional pre-nineteenth century practice of adding honey and fruit to create special seasonal brews. Our most recent developments are contemporary session ales such as Pale Ale, a 4.2%, hoppy and aromatic ale with bright citrus flavours. With our Without® brand we have created a range of true 0.0% alcohol free beers. Malty, full-bodied and bursting with flavour, St Peter’s Without® is brewed to the exact same standards as our traditional craft ale, just without the alcohol.

The name St. Peter’s Brewery was an obvious choice as the brewery is situated in the Suffolk village of St Peter South Elmham, in former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall.

The logo was designed to depict a barrel traditionally used for brewing beer and the raven is a symbol of the Vikings – the moat at St Peter’s Hall most likely dates from the tenth century when moats were thought to have been dug as a defence against the Vikings who raided the Suffolk area well into the 11th Century.

The key represents the keys of Saint Peter – the keys of heaven. Saint Peter is often depicted in artwork as holding a key or a set of keys.

The iconic oval shape of our signature 500ml bottle is based on an eighteenth century gin bottle from Gibbstown, by the Delaware River near Philadelphia.
