Like bonfire night on the nose, a luscious sweet wine made with botrytised (noble rot) grapes. Only getting better over the years in bottle this wine has bonfire toffee on the nose with a toasty pineapple and mango flavour.
This is a lighter and less intensely sweet wine with lovely notes of dried tropical fruit, peach, citrus blossom, spices and marmalade. Drink alongside fruity desserts or with a cheese course.
Tokaji Classic Winery is situated in the ancient town of Mád and has eight hectares under vine with an average age of 30 years in the grand crus of Kiraly and Betsak planted with Furmint, Harslevelu and Muscat.
The land was purchased from small local farmers in 1993 by two classical musicians. The winemaking is in the hands of Imre Galambos whose family has been making Tokaji for generations although Imre honed his skills at oenology school in Budapest. Modern, high-tech methods are avoided in place of traditional wine making and barrel ageing with the aim being to produce the best and most unique sweet wines in the world.
Tokaj Classic was founded in the town of Mad in 1994 by three classical musicians who wished to make traditional styles of sweet wine using the best modern technology
