Intense ruby-red colour, with a complex bouquet, reminiscent of cherries, dried berries and toasted almonds. In the mouth it is full-bodied yet smooth and elegant with a silky texture. The finish is long and lingering, with a burst of spiced cherries and bright fruit and earthiness at the end. Its rich and warming profile pairs perfectly with slow-cooked lamb, mushroom risotto, or dark chocolate desserts, making it ideal for indulgent meals.

This rich and versatile Primitivo is a perfect match for hearty dishes. Pair it with slow-cooked lamb shanks, beef lasagna, or roasted pork tenderloin. Its bold profile also complements spicy barbecued ribs or mushroom-based dishes like wild mushroom risotto. For a touch of indulgence, enjoy it with aged Parmesan or dark chocolate desserts. Its generous flavours and approachable style make it a fantastic choice for both casual meals and special occasions.

Organic/Vegan

Zensa Wines is a well-regarded producer focused on creating high-quality, organic wines that reflect the authenticity of southern Italy’s terroir. The name “Zensa” is derived from the Italian word “senza,” meaning “without,” which refers to their commitment to making wine without the use of pesticides, chemicals, or synthetic fertilizers. Zensa Wines follows strict organic farming practices, ensuring that the grapes express their natural flavours and purity. Their dedication to sustainability and respect for the environment is evident in every bottle, offering a taste of Puglia that is as ethical as it is delicious.

The vineyard promote biodiversity and allow plants other than vines to grow in and around the vineyard. Biodiversity helps regulate the vineyard soil by attracting beneficial insects, spiders and predatory mites, as well as providing shelter and food (pollen, nectar and other bugs), and replaces the need for chemical pesticides or insecticides. What cannot be fully controlled through biodiversity can still be managed organically, through the use of naturally-occurring plant or mineral extracts, which leave no residues in the soil.
